Discover methods
Discover is a collection of ready-made workshop designs and the building blocks they are made of. You adopt an entry into your workshops whole or a piece at a time. The collection is curated by us, not by the crowd: dozens of entries that we write and maintain ourselves, not a gallery of templates for every occasion.
You’ll find Discover in the header. All members of the workspace can browse it.
What an entry is
Section titled “What an entry is”There is only one kind of entry. A short building block with one day and a few blocks sits next to a program spanning several days. Each entry in the list shows:
- how many days it has, for example 1 day or 3 days,
- how long it takes,
- how many people it is meant for, for example 8–20 people or any number of people.
In Discover, methods are named neutrally after what they do, not after brand names.
Search and filter
Section titled “Search and filter”Above the list are the Filters:
| Filter | How it works |
|---|---|
| the chips under each filter heading | Click a value to see only matching entries. A second click removes it again. If you choose several, an entry has to meet all of them. |
| Group size | How many people are in the room? Entries whose range covers that number appear. |
| Time available, in minutes | Entries that fit into that time appear. |
| Search | A free search term. |
After entering a group size, time or search term, click Apply. Clear filters shows you everything again. Further down, Load more loads the next entries.
If nothing fits, it says “Nothing matches that.” Then drop a filter or allow more time.
View an entry
Section titled “View an entry”Click an entry. The page shows it day by day, with every block and its duration. Blocks that are meant as a reserve in the entry are marked Parked. If a text isn’t available in your language yet, it says “This text is not available in your language yet.”, and you read the English version.
Back to Discover takes you back to the list.
Adopt into your workspace
Section titled “Adopt into your workspace”Under Adopt into your workspace you choose where the entry goes:
| Destination | What happens |
|---|---|
| As a new workshop | A new workshop with the entry’s name and all its days. It appears in your library. |
| Append to an existing workshop | The entry’s days are added after the last day of the workshop you pick under Choose a workshop. |
| Into a day of an existing workshop | The blocks go into a day you pick under Choose a workshop and Choose a day. Only for entries with a single day. |
- Choose the destination and, if needed, the workshop and day.
- Click Adopt. The button shows Adopting …
- Click Open the workshop to open the result.
What you adopt is a copy that you can change freely; the catalog itself stays as it is. After that, the agenda calculates all times by itself as usual. You can only adopt into an existing workshop if you may edit it.
Notices after adopting
Section titled “Notices after adopting”An entry never fails because of a single block. Whatever doesn’t fit perfectly still arrives, and the page tells you what:
| Notice | Meaning |
|---|---|
| “… blocks arrived as notes …” | Your workspace doesn’t have the block type. The block arrived as a note. |
| “… blocks arrived without their descriptions.” | Your workspace has customized the block type, and the text didn’t fit into it. |
| “… days could not be written and are empty.” | These days exist but have no blocks yet. Add them yourself, or adopt the entry again as a new workshop. |
With the AI assistant
Section titled “With the AI assistant”Your AI assistant can also search Discover and adopt entries, with the same three destinations. The tools for that are in the Tool reference.
Some entries can also be read publicly, on the Workshop methods page.
