Profile and language

Everything that concerns only you is on one page: open the account menu at the top right and choose Profile & settings. The page is called Settings and has three parts: your profile, the language and, at the very bottom, Delete account. From there you also get to Security (passkeys) and AI Connection.

Under Profile are First name and Last name. This is how others see you in workshops, in sharing and when you work live on a day together.

  1. Enter your first and last name. Both fields are required, each with at most 100 characters.
  2. Click Save. If everything worked, Saved. appears next to it.

If one of the two names is missing, the page reminds you: “Please add your first and last name so others can recognise you.”

Admins can also correct a member’s name, under Members with Edit name.

GoodWorkshop is available in German, English, French and Spanish. Each language appears in the selection in its own spelling: Deutsch, English, Français, Español.

  1. Under Language, choose the language you want.
  2. Click Apply.

The language applies to three things:

What Example
the interface menus, buttons, notices
your exports a workshop’s Markdown export
the e-mails you receive sign-in links and other messages to you

The choice is saved on your account and additionally in your browser. That’s why the sign-in page also stays in your language after you sign out. The sign-in page has the same selection – handy if you’re not signed in yet at all.

At the very bottom of the page is Delete account. This removes you from this workspace. If your e-mail address belongs to no other workspace, your account itself is deleted too.

  1. Click Delete account. A panel opens with the heading Delete your account.
  2. The page tells you what belongs to you, for example “To hand over: 3 workshops and 1 folder.” If you own anything, choose under Takes over who gets it. Active colleagues are available to choose from.
  3. Type your e-mail address to confirm.
  4. Click Delete account for good.

Two cases in which deleting doesn’t work:

  • Nobody can take over. If you own workshops or folders and there is no other active member, the page says: “There is nobody who could take over. Invite somebody first or delete your workshops.”
  • You are the last active admin. A workspace never loses its last admin. Make someone else an admin first, otherwise nobody can reach the administration any more.

If, in the cloud, you want to end the whole workspace rather than just your account, that’s something else: it’s described under Pricing and billing.
